ProductCamp Austin 6

We’d like to thank everyone who participated in the recent ProductCamp Austin 6 on January 15. Congratulations to Kirsten Knipp for winning the Best Session award for her presentation session, Marketing the Agile Way – Applying Scrum Outside of Development.

There has been a ton of activity online since our last event.

Continue the discussion online, and be sure to let us know if you have written about ProductCamp in your blog.

Livestreamed Video

At ProductCamp Austin 6, we tried something new when we streamed video from
select sessions online. As with any first-time experiment, there were some technical glitches with audio and other issues but overall it worked out pretty well. Here are
links to the sessions that were Livestreamed from the event.

  • The Art of Being Relevant panel session by Joshua Duncan
  •
  • Negotiation Best Practices – An Interactive Workshop presentation by Kate Stewart
  • Using Business Objectives to Kill Scope and Launch Better Products presentation by Joy Beatty
  • The Product Management X-Factor: How to be a Rock Star Product Manager presentation by Paul Young

    Recruiting Roundup

Several hiring companies came to meet job-seeking Product Managers and Product Marketers in a provided time and space. Read the full story about Recruiting Roundup here.

    Thanks to our volunteers!

ProductCamp is a 100% volunteer driven, non-profit venture that exists to serve the Austin community. PCA volunteers put in literally hundreds of hours making ProductCamp come to life – from getting the word out, to working within our (tiny) budget, to making it run like clockwork on the day of the event.  This team deserves our thanks and recognition for the ProductCamp Austin 6 event we just completed, and I’d like to call the planning team leaders out here:

    • Tom Evans – Sessions
    • Bertrand Hazard – Venue
    • Brian Piercy – Volunteers and Logistics
    • Melissa Muckenthaler – Sponsors
    • Colleen Heubaum – Budget
    • Mike Boudreaux – Marketing
    • Mark Suchanek – Chairman

…and there are many, many more who participated on each of those teams and helped out in general than can be fit here. If you are interested in volunteering at ProductCamp Austin, visit the Volunteer page on our website.

    Thanks to our sponsors!

A big thanks to our Annual Sponsors for supporting ProductCamp Austin in 2011. Thank them – they keep ProductCamp FREE for our community. If you end up using their services, let them know that you heard of them from ProductCamp so that they can see the return on their investment.
